Hello Sisters and Brothers, my name is Doug Bias Jr. I was hired on July 17, 1997, into the old paint shop. I am a second-generation auto worker. I was elected in 2000 as the alternate committee person on 2nd shift representing Paint and Reliability (Quality) departments. In 2002, I was elected to committee person of these departments, where I served 5 terms as a committee person. During this period, I transferred to the 1st shift representing these departments. During the same period, we had several redistricting, where I gained knowledge of Material, Stamping, and Group 9 in Trim. In 2012, I was appointed to our Joint Training Rep. I was appointed to the Benefits Representative for approximately 18 months and then back to JTR/JAR. In December of 2020, I was elected to your Shop Chairperson where I remain today. I was elected, at Sub Council 2023, to be the top negotiator for the Car Division. I have been part of negotiations for three local agreements here at Fairfax UAW Local 31.
