SATURDAY: Oshkosh Defense Workers, Elected Leaders to Rally Demanding Good Union Jobs for Wisconsin Families Oshkosh Defense slashed hometown jobs in half since 2012 Workers urge company to build USPS vehicles in Wisconsin, create 1,000 local jobs OSHKOSH, WI — Joined by community members and elected leaders outraged by the loss of local jobs, Oshkosh Defense workers with the United Automobile Workers (UAW) Local 578 will rally Saturday at the corporation’s massive headquarters calling for a major investment in good union jobs for Fox Valley families.

“The over $150 million investment in Flint rewards GM’s production and skilled trades workers for the quality Full-Size Pickups they produce. Under the direction of Director Gerald Kariem of UAW Region 1D, Flint GM workers in the past year have secured 1,000 additional jobs which reflect the hard work of UAW members as they build heavy duty Chevy and GMC pickup trucks.”

"While the UAW welcomes the $700 million in Ohio investment outside of Lordstown, Ohio, it is not forgotten that UAW members, their families and citizens in the Mahoning Valley invested in General Motors in its darkest days to allow for the record profits that GM is making in recent years. The people of the Mahoning Valley deserve a solid, secure job investment that no start-up, dependent on federal contracts, can bring to the Valley. UAW members and the community deserve a GM product investment at Lordstown."

This afternoon, in accordance with today’s NLRB ruling, the UAW filed a new petition on behalf of Chattanooga production and maintenance workers.

This morning the NLRB directed the Board’s Regional Office to dismiss a petition filed on April 9 but stated that the UAW could “immediately file a new petition.”  This afternoon, as soon it was able to do so, the UAW immediately filed a new petition, again seeking a vote among Chattanooga production and maintenance workers.

Volkswagen Workers: We’ve Waited Long Enough! Let us Vote!

In an unprecedented move caused by Volkswagen’s legal games, the NLRB this morning issued a split decision and dismissed Chattanooga workers petition for a vote, but allowed it to be refiled.

UAW LOCAL 862 ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT – Mark your calendars for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 19, 2019 (Good Friday) from 4:30pm through 7:30pm at the KTP Union Hall at 2702 Chamberlain Lane for children up to 10 years old. Doors will open at 4:30pm.

There will be bouncies, a slide, face painters, balloons, games, and snacks at the event. We hope to see you
